Real ID Requirements

Not traveling with a REAL ID?

Starting February 1, 2026, travelers without a REAL ID, or other acceptable form, must complete TSA’s ConfirmID process. Pay the $45 TSA fee online before travel and bring your receipt and a government-issued ID to the checkpoint. Travelers without valid ID or a ConfirmID receipt will not be allowed through security.

Beginning May 7, 2025, every air traveler 18 years of age and older must present a REAL ID-Compliant driver’s license, state-issued enhanced driver’s license, or other acceptable forms of identification, such as a valid passport, Global Entry Card or U.S. Military ID, to fly within the United States. Standard driver’s licenses will no longer be accepted by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at airport security checkpoints effective May 7, 2025. Individuals who are unable to verify their identity will not be permitted to enter TSA checkpoints at airports and will not be permitted to fly.
